REDS WIN!!!!!.....and Leake too.

Well I would call it a successful professional debut for Mike Leake. He threw over 100 pitches, went into the 7th inning, and was in full control. Yes he was a little wild but he pitched out of jams throughout the game. Having the bases loaded in the first inning, with no outs, Mike Leake was masterful in getting out of that jam. Not only did he strike out 5 and battle on the mound. Leake earned a no decision, only giving up 1 run, but he got his first major league hit with a rope up the middle. He added an additional hit in the 5th and had a phenomenal debut. This wasn't just his major league debut, but Leake pitched in his first professional game today. After being the Reds first round pick in last summers draft(8th overall), he signed late and didn't play in the minors. He pitched in the Arizona Fall league and in spring training, earning a spot on this Reds roster. He still has some things to work out, but he was very impressive, and just added to an already strong and deep pitching staff.
