Well folks its time for Bracketology post season edition. We are two weeks away from selection Sunday and things will be more defined after this weekend.
For a recap on how the Pairwise works click here.
A little recap here:
16 teams get into the tournament
Their are 6 conferences all get an automatic bid
1 seeds will be placed to their closest regional possible
Flights for 1 seeds will be avoided if possible
There can not be interconference matchups in the first round unless a league has more than 5 teams.
Ok with those basics out of the way, lets see where are rankings are today.
Rk Team
1 Denver
2 Miami
3 Wisconsin
4 Boston College
5 North Dakota
6 Bemidji State
7 Alaska
8 St. Cloud State
9 Yale
10 New Hampshire

12 Michigan State
13 Ferris State
14 Northern Michigan

So the following teams won the regular season titles so we will consider them the auto bids for these purposes. They are as follows:
CCHA: Miami
WCHA: Denver
Hockey East: New Hampshire
ECAC: Yale
Atlantic Hockey: RIT
CHA: Bemidji St.
Since RIT is not in the top 16 they will be slotted as the 16th seed. So following the 1 vs 16 matchup our brackets look like this.
St. Paul, MN- West Regional
1. Denver v 4. RIT
2. St. Cloud State v 3. Yale
Ft. Wayne, IN- Midwest Regional
1. Miami v 4. Minnesota-Duluth
2. Alaska v 3. New Hampshire
Albany, NY- East Regional
1. Wisconsin v 4. Northern Michigan
2. Cornell v 3. Bemidji St.
Worcester, Mass- Northeast Regional
1. Boston College v 4. Ferris St.
2. North Dakota v 3. Michigan St.
First things we need to look at is are there any inter conference matchups? Answer is No. Second thing to look at is can we avoid a flight for a 1 seed and that answer is yes. There for we will switch the West bracket and the East bracket. Now the third and final question is how does our attendance look? With Miami in Ft. Wayne we are great there, Boston College in Mass looks great. Wisconsin and Bemidji in St. Paul looks good, and Yale and RIT in Albany looks good. So our final bracket looks like this:
Albany, NY- East Regional
1. Denver v 4. RIT
2. St. Cloud State v 3. Yale
Ft. Wayne, IN- Midwest Regional
1. Miami v 4. Minnesota-Duluth
2. Alaska v 3. New Hampshire
St. Paul, MN- West Regional
1. Wisconsin v 4. Northern Michigan
2. Cornell v 3. Bemidji St.
Worcester, Mass- Northeast Regional
1. Boston College v 4. Ferris St.
2. North Dakota v 3. Michigan St.
This is where I will hang my hat this week. Looks like a great tournament shaping up and I'm sure there will be some changes for next week so check back!
