Oh Big Ben, what were you thinking!

Ok so I'm not going to get on here and beat a man while he's down but I mean seriously Ben. For those who aren't aware Ben Rothlesberger, the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has been accused of sexual assault. The accusation comes from a woman who attends Georgia college & State University. Ben was at a night club with his entourage Friday night when the alleged assault occurred. The woman in question reported it immediately which adds some legitimacy in peoples minds. However we all must reserve judgement because at this point these are still only allegations.
The problem for me is the fact that Ben is 28 yrs old. The woman in question is 20 yrs old. He is a high profile NFL quarterback on one of the best franchises in the country. So the question rises on why Ben is hanging out on college campuses and going to college bars. Yes he comes from small town Findlay, Ohio and yes he went to college in a college town at Miami University but at some point you need to grow up a little.
A few months back a Civil law suit was filed against Ben by a woman in Reno, NV claiming he sexual assaulted her while he was attending a charity golf tournament at Lake Tahoe. And as many remember a little over two years ago when Ben nearly died due to a motorcycle accident where he wasn't wearing a helmet. The accident is what it is and thankfully he has been able to fully recover. However the first sexual assault accusation is disturbing there were never any criminal charges filed. But still with that close call you would think you would put yourself in a better situation than he did on Friday.
The problem here lies with Ben's judgement of late. I have met Ben a couple times while he was at Miami and he couldn't of been a nicer guy. But sometimes nice guy's are naive. Now being naive is never an excuse but someone that is close to him needs to step in here. Someone needs to sit him down and tell him that he needs to think before doing certain things. At his age with his stature in American society he needs to know there are certain places where a person of his stature can only have bad things happen. Being at a night club on a college campus after midnight is definitely not a place he needs to be.
So for Ben's sake I hope these accusations turn out to be false because I genuinely like him as a person, even though he does play for the Steelers. But I will end with this, lets all reserve our judgement of him until the investigation is completed and the facts are known.
