Wolverines extend the streak to 20

The Michigan Wolverines had to win the CCHA tournament to make the NCAA Hockey Tournament. What was on the line? The streak. Michigan had made the NCAA Hockey Tournament 19 consecutive years and they were in SERIOUS danger of missing out on the tournament this year.
After a surprising sweep of in-state rival Michigan State, Michigan headed to Joe Louis Arena on a mission. Their first target, the Miami Redhawks, ranked #1 in the country for most of the season. Michigan had never lost to Miami in the CCHA tournament. That continued as Michigan dominated the Redhawks from the opening face off. Michigan won the game 5-2 as they set up a match up with Northern Michigan for the CCHA tournament title.
Michigan was able to pull off another upset over Northern Michigan, as Louie Caporusso scored twice to lead the Wolverines to a 2-1 victory. Michigan goalie, Shawn Hunwick once again stood tall making 17 saves in the victory. With the victory, the Wolverines were once again CCHA tournament champions, and once again, headed to the field of 16.
