Number 1 Miami continued its dominance of the CCHA with a 2-0 defeat of Lake Superior State, tonight, at the Steve Cady Arena. Carter Camper put Miami ahead at the 19:51 mark of the first period with a wrist shot that beat Laker goalie Brian Mahoney-Wilson. The goal was Camper's 11th on the season. The 1-0 lead stood all the way until the 19:59 mark of the third period when Andy Miele tallied an empty net goal.
Miami sophomore goalie Cody Reichard set a Miami hockey record with his 5th shutout on the season. The record was previously held by David Burleigh. Reichard made 33 saves on his way to the shutout.
The victory moves Miami to 19-4-6 (16-1-4-2 CCHA). Miami looks to complete the weekend sweep of Lake State, Saturday night at 7:05 at the Steve Cady Arena.
