Taking life for granted

First things first, I want to send my condolences to the families of Ohio State Troopers Andrew Baldridge and Mark McLaughlin. Trooper Baldridge was killed and Trooper McLaughlin was critically injured in a one-car auto accident responding to a backup call on Thursday night. Their cruiser slipped off the road and rolled. Trooper Baldridge, 25, gradutated from the Ohio State Patrol Academy in December, while Trooper McLaughlin, 33, is a veteran of the OSP. Police officers take a lot of heat way too many times, and they are the ones who are keeping our roads and cities safe. It seems we take them forgranted. Please take the time to thank a police officer as they put themselves in harms way on a daily basis. It is a shame that a young man, in fact, younger than me, loses his life on his way to help a fellow police officer. My heart goes out to his family and to the family of the Ohio State Patrol.

As always, thank a police officer, firefighter and the great American Soldier. God Bless America!

As im sitting here just after midnight, I noticed another tragedy had occured. This time, the son of Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke, was killed in an auto accident in Indiana on Friday. Brendan Burke was a student at Miami University and was on the Miami hockey team staff. Burke was in charge of video and statistics. We here at The 2 Sports Freaks would like to send our condolences to the Burke Family and to the Miami Hockey Team.
